At 9.30am Infosecurity Europe 2017 opened its doors. Professionals from around the world flooded into the region’s number one information security event.
They were all here for the same reason, to access Europe’s largest and most comprehensive conference programme and to network with over 360 exhibitors showcasing the most relevant information security solutions and products.
Here is a look at just some of the highlights from day one.
Building an agile security team for the future…
From M&A activity, to the adoption of new disruptive technologies, to evolving working practices, information security teams now need to be able to deal with an ever changing, agile business landscape. Earlier today Vicki Gavin, Compliance Director, Head of Continuity and Information Security for The Economist Group, took to the Keynote Stage to offer some tips on this hot topic.

Day one of this three-day event did not disappoint. The diversity and quality of products and services on show from more than 360 exhibitors was astonishing.

When should you pay the ransom?
Next up it was time for a look at ransomware, when James Lyne, Global Head of Security Research at Sophos took to the Keynote Stage to offer the packed audience some invaluable insight.
We chatted to James following his session to find out more, here is what he had to say:
Education, education, education…
Throughout the afternoon the outstanding line-up of experts continued, all here to address the industry’s hottest challenges and topics.
A particular highlight was Deloitte’s Stephen Bonner. Stephen provided some fantastic insight into why securing the user is of ever increasing importance.
We spoke to Stephen straight from the stage for a round-up of the session.
